Dibutyl maleate's molecular formula is C16H22O4 with Molecular weight 278.35.

Its relative density is (d2520) 1.045 with a strong ability to dissolve. Dibutyl maleate has

an excellent compatibility with most organic solvents and hydrocarbons nitrocellulose, polystyrene

and others , cellulose resin and PVC primary plasticizer. Dibutyl maleate especially is suitable for nitrocellulose

coating with excellent solubility, dispersion, adhesion, flexibility and stability of the film are good.Dibutyl maleate

has good compatibility with pigments for the coloration of the film, artificial leather and other plastic products;

Dibutyl maleate also is used For PVC, alkyd resins, ethyl cellulose and neoprene as plasticizer and softener in order to

improve the resilience of the article.

3)When dibutyl maleate is used for the PVC ware,it can make ware soft,lucency,high transparence.
4)Due to its strong solublizing property,dibutyl maleate may effectively plasticize polyacrylonitrile,polymethyl acrylates,

which are difficult to be plasti- cized by other plasticizers
