Pharmaceutical Intermediates P Chloranil Description:

The product is also known as P-chloranil,tetrachlorobenzoquinone, tetrachloroquinone,

chlorran, etc. P-chloranil`s molecular formula is C6Cl4O2 with molecular weight 245.88.

The precipitates from acetic acid or acetone are golden flake crystals, and those precipitated

from benzene or toluene or sublimated are monoclinic yellow columnar crystals. There is an

unpleasant persistent smell. P-chloranil has sublimation. P-chloranil is insoluble in water,

insoluble in cold ethanol, cold petroleum ether, soluble in ether, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride

and carbon disulfide. P-chloranil can be slowly dissolved in alkaline solutions with forming reddish

brown to purple precipitates when air is present (tetrachlorohydrin pairs) Potassium benzoquinone).

P-chloranil can be used as non-absorbent fungicides.P-chloranil also can be used in grain, peanut,

vegetable, cotton, bean seed sterilization, but also can be used as dye intermediates, pesticide

1.P-chloranil is used as vulcanizing agent of natural rubber, Ding Ji synthetic rubber, butadiene-butadiene and neoprene.
2.P-chloranil also is mainly used in the manufacture of Ding Ji rubber tube, outer tire, vulcanization capsule, heat-resistant

products, insulation wire and so on. P-chloranil may be used alone or mixed with sulfur and other vulcanizing accelerators

(generally with accelerator DM) for the manufacture of cables and sponge rubber products with a dosage of 0.5% 4.0.

3. P-chloranil is also used to produce imine quinone, cancer inhibition powder, diuretic drug asteridone, as well as dyestuff
