Potassium sulfide, inorganic compound, soluble in water, ethanol and glycerol, insoluble in ether, dust irritates eyes, nose and throat, and causes sneezing, cough and laryngitis after contact. High concentrations of inhalation cause pulmonary edema. Eye contact with skin can cause burns. Alkaline corrosion products, mainly used as analytical reagents, depilants and medicine. It can be made by the reaction of carbon and potassium sulfate.
