Product Overview

Potassium borohydride white loose powder or crystals. It is stable in the air and does not absorb moisture. Potassium borohydride is easily soluble in water, soluble in liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, and almost insoluble in ether, benzene, tetrahydrofuran, methyl ether and other hydrocarbons. It is stable in an alkaline environment and releases hydrogen gas in the presence of inorganic acids. Strong reducibility. Properties: White loose powder or crystals. Relative density 1.178. Melting point 585°C, decomposition starts at about 500°C in vacuum, stable in air, non-hygroscopic. Potassium borohydride is readily soluble in water, and hydrogen is completely released when the aqueous solution is heated to 100°C. Soluble in liquid ammonia, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, almost insoluble in ether, benzene, tetrahydrofuran, methyl ether and other hydrocarbons.
