Erbium oxide is a pink powder with a chemical formula of Er2O3. It absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide easily, and changes to six square crystals when heated to 1300 degrees, and does not melt. Solubility: insoluble in inorganic acids and insoluble in water. It is used mainly as yttrium iron garnet additive and nuclear reactor control material. It is also used in the manufacture of special luminescent glass and infrared glass, and also used as a glass colorant. It was obtained by separating and burning the erbium nitrate or erbium sulfate solution after reaction with alkali. Only a stable compound of Er2O3.
