1,5-Diphenylcarbazide, white crystalline powder. It turns red in the air. Soluble in hot ethanol, acetone and glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ether. The melting point is 168~171 degrees. Titrate iron as an indicator. Colorimetric determination of chromium, mercury and lead was carried out to detect cadmium, mercury, magnesium, aldehydes and earth roots. Redox indicator for dichromate determination.
