Product Description

Calcium Hydride With Cas 7789-78-8

Gray-white crystal or lump, easy to be wet, used as reducing agent, desiccant, chemical analytical reagent, etc. It is also a colorless rhombic crystal system. Industrial products are gray, orthogonal or powder. Sensitive to moisture. It does not react with dry air, nitrogen and chlorine gas at room temperature, but it can react with the above gas at high temperature, producing calcium oxide, calcium carbide and calcium chloride respectively. When water dissolves, hydrogen is released, which can react with ethanol to form hydrogen and calcium ethanol. The reduction of metal oxide is stronger than sodium hydroxide or lithium hydroxide.
